Feathered ambassadors with a story to tell about man's influence on the survival of wildlife make the Callaway's Birds of Prey show much more than just entertainment. The magnificent birds of prey featured in these outdoor, free-flighted shows, demonstrate their strength, speed and natural instincts at a lakeside amphitheater that allows the creatures to swoop directly over spectators' heads. This is a rare opportunity to see these birds up-close and to learn how our actions can endanger the survival of these innocent, yet mighty, birds. Callaway Gardens is one of the few locations that features a live raptor show daily. There are approximately one dozen birds in the program, and at each show, three to five of the raptors appear, so no two shows are ever alike. Most of the birds fly freely during the show – right over the heads of the audience! Trainers The Birds of Prey shows are presented by expert trainers who spend countless hours training and nurturing these birds. The trust and mutual respect between the birds and trainers is evident in each of their performances. Pet Policy For your pet's safety and the safety of our raptors, no pets are allowed in or near the Discovery Amphitheater or the bike path behind the amphitheater when a Birds of Prey show is in progress or during training sessions. The birds in the program are not domesticated and retain all of their hunting instincts and abilities. Shows may be canceled in the case of inclement weather or extreme heat. Show times are: January 1–February 28
