April

Don't touch those daffodils! Wait until foliage is completely yellow before cutting it back.

Fertilize bermuda, centipede, zoysia and other warm season lawns with a high nitrogen blend like 20-5-10.

Set out early tomato plants and sow bush bean seeds in mid April. You can place peat pots directly in the garden as long as they are completely covered with soil to avoid drying out.

Work garden soils only when it's fairly dry. Wait for sunny, breezy weather to dig and rake your garden.

You still have time to plant vegetables for a crisp garden salad! Seeds or transplants of leaf lettuce, radishes and small carrot varieties may be planted early this month and enjoyed for about two months, depending on the weather.

Plant Summer annual flowers and warm season vegetables AFTER the last predicted frost dates of Spring.
